From Pokemon Cards to Tamagotchi, the 90’s were awesome. And if you grew up in this era, you would definitely remember having these items at home!
Back then, hand phones were pretty much a luxury and most of us didn’t get one till we were much older. So the easiest way to call our friends was the corded phone at home. And, remember the contact books we kept to store our friends’ phone numbers? Oh yes, those were the days without a hand phone.
Who can possibly forget how FAT the TVs of the ’90s were! And yet, despite their big sizes, we only had the basic channels to watch. ‘Cos there were no such thing as smart TVs that let you connect to the Internet. How did we survive the ’90s again?
Back then the CD Walkman and other portable CD players were the Iphone equivalent. Whoever had it was like the super trendy guy that everyone envied.
Oh, those VCR! Remember buying those Casette tapes to record your favourite TV shows? I remember recording all the Meteor Garden episodes and then rewinding the tapes over and over again to rewatch. *Fan girl alert*
This is yet another product that we all had at home. Before we got the ultra slim laptops and monitors, we had to make do with this fatter and bulkier version. Even then, this was our only source of Internet fun, where we played Neopets and were crazy on Friendster.
In the 1990s, wooden furniture, particularly those made from pine wood, were a hot item. Not just in Singapore, but worldwide. So you’re not alone if you had wooden sofa and chairs and wardrobes and tables and everything else!
Before Pokemon Go came out, we ’90s kids played with Pokemon cards. Who wouldn’t remember going to the comic shops to ask for Pokemon cards! Oh, and back then there was Digimon too!
I seriously think Taylor Swift got the idea for her Shake it off song from this. Remember how much we shoooook the Tamagotchi to feed them? *Singing Shake it off, shake it off*
Most of us would have had lots of flag erasers at home. Nope, not because we are really that hardworking. But because we had erasers fight during our school days. I bet many of us would still have these erasers stocked up somewhere. Unless you were always losing the eraser battles.
Yes, those super big and heavy vacuum cleaners that came with super long wires. Gosh, those were soooo troublesome to use.
So, how many of these do you still have at home?
